The Story

How Freeman
got here.

To truly reach new heights, you must have the stomach to dare the pinnacle. I don't run from challenges — I run toward them. My legacy is built by fighting the finest in the business.

They call me “Sekuru Gudo” for a reason. It speaks of craft, of patience, of a wisdom forged in the fire of the ring. My story didn't start under the bright lights, but in the dust and heat of Chiredzi, Masvingo. It is a story of fists, yes, but also of voice.

My foundation was laid with discipline. From my first amateur bout in 2012, I was a student of the sweet science. That mastery took me to the top of the national podium — not once, but three times, with gold in 2014 and 2016, and bronze against the best in Zone 4 and Zone 5.

I turned professional in 2017. Over 16 bouts I've built a record that speaks of enduring power — a 56% win ratio, but the truth is in the detail: 66% of those wins came by knockout. My left hand carries a final argument. I've taken that power across borders — to Georgia and beyond — because a true warrior tests himself on foreign soil.

But the ring is only one arena. I saw a gap — a need for our local scene to be documented and celebrated with the insight only a fighter possesses. So I stepped into the media space as a blogger and a voice for Zimbabwean boxing. I'm not just participating in the sport; I'm helping to narrate its journey, building its legacy from the inside out.
